Daniel “DTM” Flores is a Mexican-American (Chicano) multidisciplinary 2D artist working on character art for games, comics, fine art and animations.
DTM is born and raised in East LA and attended public school amid the 70s and 80s, surrounded by murals full of history of resistance, revolt, solidarity, unity and community with a heavy lean on Chicanismo, Campesinos, Mexican and Aztec History. During his Pre-Teen years, DTM lived in Mexico City where studying Aztec History took over his imagination and so began his affinity to Aztec Art and Mythology reading any book that would provide insight into the past and beyond. DTM is now based in Atlanta, GA as a working artist with an art career that spans over 20 years in digital and traditional arts creating Graphic Design, Concept Art, Vector Illustration, Pencil and Ink Drawings plus Fine Art Paintings and Murals. Since 1997, DTM has participated in dozens of group Art Shows in the Atlanta Area and galleries sponsored by local and national brands. In 2005, one of DTM’s drawings made it into the Art Beats and Lyrics art exhibit at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. In 2011, DTM jumped into acting with The Walking Dead on AMC for one episode and since then he’s been featured in several movies (Triple Nine, Let’s Be Cops and DayBlack) and TV shows (Constantine, Complications and If Loving You Is Wrong) as a mean looking dude. DTM’s art has been featured in magazines and online interviews, including a bit on the 2012 July issue of ImagineFX Magazine, an English art magazine. He is also a founding member of the arts community non-profit organization Art Is King and is the curator of the free monthly MeetUps designed to bridge the gap between creative skills and business education to empower the artist to thrive. DTM's art focus is on personal art like comics, graphic novels and mobile game projects that are slowly evolving under his Visual Art Werks brand. In 2020, DTM led a 3 day workshop on Adobe Illustrator on iPad for Adobe MAX. From 2020 to 2024 DTM has been hosting a series of livestreams with Adobe Live, Behance Live and his own SketchLab Sessions on Discord and Vector Maestros channel on YouTube. 2024 saw two new collaborations between DTM and Adobe. A trip to NYC for Adobe Illustrator Community Summit brought DTM to a gathering of over 30 Illustrators and Designers where Adobe Illustrator was the topic of conversation. Later in 2024, DTM was invited back to Adobe MAX, this time in Miami as part of the Adobe Community Experts, to share his creative workflows in Adobe Express and Adobe Illustrator plus a short speaking session at the Community Park stage for "How to Future Proof Your Creative Career". DTM's passion is art and his goal is to see artists build their artistic skills and create a self sustainable and successful art career. DTM can usually be found with a drawing device of some kind working on another inspired idea that needs to come out of his head and into the page.
